Vauxhall Movano Self-Build Motorhome Refit – Video Tour of work in Progress

Work is really progressing on the Vauxhall Movano refit and a lot of the interior cladding and features are in place. It’s bare wood at this time, which I think looks great, but the problem is that this 9mm cladding has a lot of natural holes in it which will need filling and I’m not sure how nice it will look. So I’m probably going to paint the interior white. The other reason for going with a white interior is that it makes the van feel larger and makes the most of ambient or electric lighting.

The video below was shot by my friend who wanted to have a look around the van as a work in progress. I thought it would be interesting to share with you as it gives a nice update on the project:

Some of the cool innovations I show her include the oversink cupboard which acts as a draining board allowing wet plates, pots and pans to be put away. Water drains back into the sink! I’d never seen this done in any motorhome/campervan before, but since I first released my design to the public I’ve seen it repeated by a number of big manufacturers and conversion companies. Happy to share it! I also show her the pull out HD flatscreen TV which is hooked up to a 12V head unit that also has its own integrated screen, alowing one to watch DVDs on either the big screen or the mini screen (lower power consumption).

You can see the finished Vauxhall Movano / Renault Master campervan conversion here.
