Just a quick head’s up on a new project to convert a lovely 2019 Ford Transit Connect LWB into a camper/mountain bike transporter. The client’s brief is as follows:
- Must be able to put the ebike in and get it out with ease (not as easy as you think in a small van)
- The van must remain unchanged on the outside
- The bulk-head must remain in the van
- The van must be able to be slept in occasionally
- LED lighting inside and some form of “work lighting” outside
- Storage for clothes, some tools and a track pump
- Can carry two bikes when needed
Work is underway and I’m just waiting on some of the parts and materials for this custom van build to come in. But I’ve already got the van interior gutted and put in a custom wiring loom. There’s lots of cool things going into this van but I’ll save them for future posts, for now I just wanted to share this project with you.
